Estates and Facilities Manager

Kingsbridge Healthcare Group are currently seeking to fill the role of Estates and Facilities Manager within the Estates and Facilities Department. The successful candidate will be based at Kingsbridge Private Hospital Sligo but will be required to travel to other Company locations as and when required.

Job Summary

The Estates and Facilities Manager shall provide professional assistance to the General Manager to ensure that the Estates department delivers a comprehensive, compliant, and effective service to the Hospital as a whole.

The role will involve strong planning and organisation to evaluate and analyse quality issues across the Sligo Estate and introduce corrective and preventive actions with external contractors

The successful candidate will perform a business-critical function supervising the operational delivery of all hard and soft Estate and Facility operations across the Sligo site. They will be managing the Reactive, Preventative Maintenance team, they will oversee building services (including critical utilities), projects and monitor contractors’ performance.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the day-to-day operation of the Sligo Estates team, ensuring the hospital remains safe
  • Motivate and support the team to maintain high standards of performance and reaction times, following the non-compliance pathway to closure
  • Ensure streamlined, accurate information is readily accessible for immediate inspection by internal management and external agencies
  • Management and oversight of all local level Estates build projects, and provision of regular checkpoint and highlight reports to Senior Management
  • Produce relevant reports as required and ensure that the response to all correspondence is within agreed timescales (HappyFox, Medical Audits, Zetasafe)
  • Assist the Quality Accreditation Manager in the preparation of JCI readiness statistics and report on these to Group Manager in relation to compliance of the built environment
  • Ensure team’s performance targets are being met and the department KPI’s are achieved.

Person Specification:

Qualifications

Essential

  • Junior Cert -Min 5 Subjects to include Math’s and English
  • Leadership and Management course
  • NEBOSH General Certificate/Diploma or degree equivalent

Desirable

  • Essential for Estates (EWP)

 Experience

Essential

  • Experience in leading a team in a fast-paced environment
  • Construction/Project Management background
  • Critical Utilities maintenance experience - Water, Electrical, Gas.
  • Proficient in Microsoft applications and Estates compliance platforms
  • Robust process implementation skills and the ability to influence others to adhere to these

Desirable

  • Regulatory body knowledge and inspection preparation experience
  • Healthcare Estates experience

Special Knowledge and Skills 

Essential

  • Attention to detail and an ability to interpret standards and regulations
  • Confidence in their ability to deal with changing deadlines and priorities
  • Ability to complete internal audits and compile reports
  • Inspection preparation and presentation

Desirable

  • In-depth knowledge of industry legal and regulatory requirements
  • Familiarisation with HTM’s and HBN’s.
