Relaxing Massage

A calming and relaxing experience to help reduce stress.

The Relaxing Massage treatment is a take on the popular Swedish massage with a combination of stroking, kneading, light pressure and flowing movements over your whole body. The aim is to leave you feeling completely relaxed.

The treatment will improve your circulation and flexibility whilst also easing any tension you may feel in your body.

Your therapist will use his or her hands, palms, thumbs and fingertips to deliver the treatment.

Aromatherapy Massage

De-stress and achieve a sense of peace and harmony.

The  Aromatherapy Massage  treatment has been designed by experienced therapists and shaped by customer feedback. The treatment uses relieving techniques and  aromatherapy oils to leave you feeling de-stressed and at peace and harmony.

This treatment uses a combination of Swedish, Deep Tissue, Acupressure and Reflexology techniques.

The Swedish element of the treatment uses strokes, motions and pressure in the direction of blood flow into your heart. By using cross-fiber friction your therapist is able to break up any muscle knots you may have. The Deep Tissue element will focus on realigning deeper layers of muscle and tissue, helping to ease any aches or pains, stiff neck and back or tightness in your legs. The Reflexology element of the treatment is deeply relaxing and therapeutic, achieved by applying gentle but firm pressure to acupressure points, mainly in the feet.

Sports Massage

Designed to relieve and prevent muscle strains and complications.

The  Sports Massage treatment is an effective technique to release tension and restore balance in your musculoskeletal system. It is a beneficial massage treatment to incorporate into a sporting regime for preparation, recovery and to prevent some minor injuries occurring. But you don’t have to be an athlete to receive this treatment, it’s beneficial for those who work out casually as well.

The Sports Massage technique that will be used by your therapist during your treatment ensures efficient and effective results are gained. Your therapist will use a variety of classic massage strokes combined with Deep Tissue techniques to manage and manipulate soft tissues including muscles, tendons and ligaments.

Pregnancy Massage

Relieve aches and pains, reduce stress and decrease swelling.

Pregnancy Massage, also referred to as prenatal massage, can reduce stress hormones in your body and help you to feel relaxed and loosen your muscles. During your pregnancy, regular massages can help you cope with discomfort as well as relieve insomnia, neck and back pain, joint pain leg cramping and sciatica. In addition, massages will encourage blood and lymph circulation, reduce stress on weight-bearing joints and help to relax nervous tension which can benefit your sleep.

Your therapist will know where your sore spots are likely to be and will tailor the treatment to your needs. If there are any other areas that need attention please let your therapist know.

Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD) Therapy

History
In the early 1930’s Dr Emil Vodder created a unique series of light massage-like movements, that included massaging lightly over the cervical lymph nodes, and found that they “cured” a range of problems. By the 1950’s he and his wife Estrid were educating the European world on lymphology and teaching MLD. They called upon their friend Gunther Wittlinger to continue educating the world on the lymphatic system and the benefits of MLD. Gunther and his wife Hildegaard continued to treat and educate. Hildegard and her family continue to run the Vodder school, treating clients with lymphoedema and training MLD therapists around the world.

Massage

Manual lymphatic drainage therapy is a very gentle and effective massage that stimulates the lymphatic system (the body’s plumbing system). It is a rhythmical and deeply relaxing massage, where the skin is methodically stretched towards directions of lymphatic flow.  This treats fluid retention and oedema while supporting the immune system and cellular detoxification.

The lymphatic system has a vital role in the body as part of the immune system, which protects the body against infection and the development of cancer. It transports nutrients to cells and eliminates metabolic wastes, toxins and excess fluid from the body. When the lymphatic system becomes blocked, lymphatic fluid builds up and stagnates, causing the entire system to become toxic. MLD massage helps clear blockages, eliminate excess fluid, metabolic wastes and toxins from the body.  It also transports nutrients to cells and increases metabolic efficiency. This all adds up to the reduction of excess fluid and assists in weight reduction.
